YIN vaguely remembers that he had a quarrel with YUNG on the roof of the building and that a man with a birthmark on his face had been around at the time they were quarrelling. SZ asks YIN about YUNG’s diary but YIN seems to be trying to conceal something. YIN has found the only witness to the incident, BILL, who has a birthmark on his face. BILL tells him all the details of what happened that day. Having heard what BILL said, YIN feels astonished and heartbroken.
